sabai-jai tends more to mean contented feeling, sabai means comfortable. good mood may be aa-rom dii

cheun-jai is refreshed, cheerful, cheun means fresh, for example, after a heart to heart talk with your tirak, you can say you cheun-jai laeo.

The jai words are very interesting. Jai literally means heart, or the inner part of a person's feelings and personality

There's also jai-dii, jai-kep, jai-dam, jai-gwang, puum-jai, dtok-jai, sia-jai, jing-jai, kao-jai, nork-jai

Thai sounds are very hard to write into English. 1 person's method is very different from another's. If you can read and write thai, you'll find a deeper understanding.

and the most used one when girls changed of heart - jai rai (cruel hearted) :p

currently airasia offer is not that bad as well that if you don't mind a transfer at KL LCCT, flying to BKK would be just over a $100.

That's only S$17.87 worth of savings but lose out on the time factor.

I hope the night life has roared back to life now ... will be checking the hip cafe ....

My FR, Knights of the SB round table,

Date : Friday night

AOPs : Vocal Cafe , Hip Hotel

1. Directions:

i) Taxi: No one knows about Palazzo or Soi Niam Utit. Just mention the more famous one , Emerald Hotel/Ratchada (next to Emanuaelle/Nataree). The Soi is next to it and just walk straight down and you will see this:

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/r...6/DSC00078.jpg

ii) Subway : Get off at Hway Hwang

2. Internal Decor :

i. Take the escalator and voila , you will see Vocal Cafe

http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/r...6/DSC00079.jpg

3. Modus Operandi:

i. Go there around 10 pm . I went there too early and ended up at Poseidon ( another story for a rainy day). The place would close around 3 am

ii. Came back around 11 pm and the scene became alive with gals ( there were more gals then guys)

iii. Quality of girls is around 6/10 -- there are some lookers / SYTs but no stunners

iv. The papasans would bring some girls over and they would take turns to belt out melancholic Thai songs mainly and it's total obligatory for you to reward them with 500 baht flower rings - ignore the hassle. Just do it once for the fun of it..

v. Please note that the girls can move from table to table - unless you make specific request for them to stay on, they are "butterflies"

vi. There's no 1000 baht bar fine as far as I know - I took a girl out for supper after her last singing slot (that's what the LED light on the stage wall is for ) and there was no discussion about cash exchange

vii. It's a pretty tough gig as they rely totally on tips for their income. Times must be really tough as the scene was pretty sparse on a Friday night

viii. The whole billl came up to 3K for 6 gals and plenty of snacks and fruits for around 4 hours. It's definitely a better option than the Coyote bars.

ix. An interesting highlight is the striptease performance

MOV00082.flv - Video - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

- You get to paste the stars (100 baht ) each on strategic areas on her body

Summary : Worthwhile checking it out if you are done with Nana/Soi Cowboy etc
