I was in BKK couple of days ago and read some tourism info published on Bangkok Post. This is statistics for tourist dollar figures, international and domestic tourist as a whole and not related to special nationalities and these figures are quoting from tourism officials.

Current tourism revenue for 2016 is around 2.5 trillion B / 70 billion USD, and expected to rise to 2.7 trillion B in the coming year.

There is of course fat profit in tourism business anywhere. I guess there may be 10-20 % profit margin in this industry. BTW, so many new houses in Issan built by the girls and ladyboys using sponsored money had not been accounted in these official figures.

Just a quick FR on Yin from Addicts. Recently addicts hasn't been reported on here, but it still seems the same. Lots of girls in sexy FA costumes and prices are also steady between the 2-2500 baht range. Picked Yin because she had slightly tanned skin and the best figure among the whole group. being the bookworm and nerd i am (ok, a cheongster nerd haha), i've started reading this book "patpong sisters" by cleo odzer, phd holder on anthropology, was an american writer, author of books on prostitution in Thailand, the hippie culture of Goa, and cybersex. heard she died of drug overdose while reverting back to her hippie lifestyle in india in her later years.

anyway, for those bros out there, this is a good read to get deeper insights into prostitution and thai culture would find this a really good read. bought this book at kino at siam paragon. i'm sure you can also find it online.

and, for a start, if we would like to just talk about 'prostitution' and 'marriage', then perhaps this is a good starting point:)

imho, i agree with the definition of marriage above haha. being in both the dating and mongering scene, i realised that people always want something for themselves in a r/s. men want sex, power, a sense of superiority, a sense of being a man when you take care of your girl, family etc etc and women, of coz they choose their life partners with certain criteria - does it sound familiar (most) of them only go with men for marriage or long term r/s with men with at least a stable financial status? if they are rich, that is a bonus! or some women like their men to be tall, dark and handsome just as men like their women to be proportionate - good breasts, well rounded hips, submissive and beautiful?

like, for eg, i have a friend, who in the beginning seems to keen to find the 'ideal' husband and when after a few years of searching without much success (she is not ugly by any standards and has her fair share of men wooing her btw) who finally settled for a man she just met online - they tied the knot within 9 months! i was astounded because his faith wasn't the same as hers (she had insisted only marrying men of the same faith as part of her requirement). later, when i found out that he is a surgeon, plus the fact that he fails most of her initial checklist (like, to be tall, athletic etc etc) oh boy. that explains everything.

it was a deal after all. remove all the lovely dovely stuff behind this legal arrangement called marriage, it can be summed as:

man meets woman's criteria.
man also ok, so man buys her a diamond ring and promise to take care of her all her life
woman opens her legs for him every night.
