Please help a newbie. I'm getting more romantic each day.

Vet getting 2nd wind?:p;)

2 suggestions both with great skyline views (if money is no object):

Red Sky (Centara, Central World)
Thailand Hotels and Resorts: Centara Hotels and Resorts - Red Sky

Checked this out 2 months back, but was thrown out due to my bermudas. NICE... dunno if burst your budget or not. Can always stop at starters

Banyan
Bangkok Luxury Hotel | Bangkok 5 Star Hotel | Banyan Tree Bangkok, Sathorn Road

Or a river cruise cum dinner (on one of those luxury boats), fronting Shang or Oriental. Go by BTS to Sapan Taksin 555

Enjoy:D

Chao Phraya River cruise dinner is highly recommended as such as experience you can't get in Singapore. Different operators offering various choices.

Bro, for romantic candle dinner, rustic setting, can consider this:
Ban Chiang Restaurant,
14 Soi Sri-vieng, Surasak Rd, Silom, bangkok.
(located behind Holiday Inn hotel).

Totally agree with u. If got time to burn, take a day tour up to the ancient city of Ayuttaya, then transfer to a cruise boat to sail down Chao Phraya river to BKK. A romantic candle light dinner can be arranged on board.
Cheers.

Didn't know of this route before. Thanks for the tip.

Have only tried those conventional cruise restaurants all these while. Truly a sifu well versed in Thai travels. Uncle etct88 briefly mentioned about you during my "la kopi/ginger" sessions with him. :D

Hope to have Teh Tarik with you guys one day. Cheers! :)

Can try Khinlom Chomsaphan. Been there once and find it nice and quiet place for dinner. I personally like the view of bridge as it very near by.

Best boredom cure: go get laid (sorry, even it's obvious in bkk). With hotel address like yours, it's tgif.

Clubbing, hit thonglor and ekkamai areas (plenty well heeled crowd). Check out other thread on bkk nightspots.

And hopefully your 2nd post (after 2 years) will share FR for us. Enjoy:p:D

Haha, Teh tarik no problem. Surely one fine day we will be able to meet. Uncle Etct88 once in awhile will popped by to TT. Every week we have TT with Bro from SBF and MK.
As for the unconventional cruise, what to do, if u are courting a rich man (thai chinese) daughter. KNS burn a big hole in my pocket.
