I remembered a few years ago i took the taxi at 8 plus from airport i can only reach my hotel at 11 plus! Somemore I have to take the bike as the driver gave up and ask me to take . Now i take the train service and only need 30 to 45 min. I can save the 2 hours to sleep in the hotel to recharge. The traffic in BBK now is similar like Jakarta .

Maybe that applies to other places but in Bangkok, the reception in 5 stars hotel won't bat an eyelid even if you bring back a group of girls. J.W Mariott, grand millenium and Renaissance ratchaprasong are some of them.

Exactly correct !. Holiday Inn in Silom and Ploenchit, Intercontinential Hotel....same same as the hotels that sojo just mentioned.:)

there was once i had supper with the mamasans till 7 in the morning.. so hard to get a cab, and ended up being stuck in a jam for 90 minutes to get from raminthra to suk 10. not fun at all after a night of drinks and you badly need to pee! :D

You can also take the normal city line pretty fast provided which station u alight. And it is cheaper like 15 to 45 compare to express which i think is 130 Bht . Difference is express goes all the way to makkasan without stopping but express freq is 40 min per train. So if u miss one need to wait 40 min.

And yes i m going to take the airport train tomorrow :)

Ekamai has a few. I always go there and have dinner. The beef is damn good but a bit ex.

Will try ekamai.

In pattaya, bar fine is abt 500. And FL normally charges is 2k but sometimes can nego to 1.5k.

The last time I brought my boss to SC and its on valentines day this year. They charge Something like 1.5k for bar fine bcos its public holiday.....dun know wat logic is that.....maybe it's supply n demand factor la.......then turn midnight, bar fine revert to normal 700. And the FL charge 2.5k leh.

Would love to try the airport express but carrying a big luggage, laptop bag and another Boston bag is too clumsy for me.....
