Zhang Ni, (played by Chen Xiuhuan), was the CEO of the Metron Chemical company. Her daughter , Ye Xin Ling (played by Cynthia Koh) was a major in the army. She was junior level manager in charge of army welfare.
She was skilled in many unarmed combats and got sniper badge. but top brass want her to do admin work instead of getting involved in combat although there were many women doing combat roles.

Xin Ling was a tom boy and joined Army after getting honour degrees in Business Administration (Finance), instead of joining her mother company as a finance controller.
Zhang Ni objected to her joining army but she cannot handle her headstrong tomboy daughter whom she had pampered during her childhood days.
She get her friend , who is a MP, to write to army to let her do admin work instead of combat.

She had a reason for not letting her daughter join army or police.


In the meantime, Top Command issued directive to Commando Division, to form all women squad to fight terrorist organisation.

BG Tan (Chen Shu Cheng ), Division Commander summoned LTC Lei Guang (Tay Ping Hui) to his office. and showed him the letter .

LTC Lei , nicknamed Thunder God, felt bemused that top command wanted to form all woman squad named Phoneix to tackle terrorist organisations in this country.
BG Tan, suggested that LTC Lei squad and Phoneix squad work together to fight terrorists.

By then, directive was sent to all units within armed forces (army, navy , and air force). Medical director of SAF , Col (Dr) Ng (Wang Yuqing) think of the best person to go and try.
Capt (Dr) Li Xi (Ivy Lee) was summoned to office and given a notice and she was encouraged to sign up.
Li Xi had combat experience. She had went to many war torn areas ,such as Somalia under UN banner. She also had fought many mercanaries and rebels ,using wide variety of firearms and handled taller and physically tougher male enemies.

Her memorial experience was the rescue of 3 year old toddler , crying in the midst of bombing of the town.
"During that time, town was beisigned by enemy mortars from warlord army.
UN troops was busy rescuing people and at the same time, shooting back at enemies closing by with Technical (vechicle with AA guns), while radioing for air support.
Li Xi noticed a sitting toddler crying while a Technical with a few rebels firing wildly.
She dashed towards her and her US commander notice her running in opposite direction. When he saw that she was trying to save toddler, he and few soldiers fired at the rebels. Technical stopped and few rebels get off ,and fierce firefight ensured.

Technical driver speed towards toddler and Li Xi jump into the vechicles and fought with 2 people and knocked them out and brake it into halt before it hit toddler.
She immediately carried toddler out to the UN soldiers. They were impressed with her bravery. in the meantimes, a pair of Super Cobras arrived at the scene with Chinook behind. Seeing the gunships , the rebels ran away in fear.

Li Xi signed a form to join Phoenix

Lt Tang Xin Yi (Joanne Peh) , sniper and skillled martial arts instructress, applied to join.
