Just got back from a week long trip over holiday period.

Spent most of the time in CP, but made trips to Macau and CA too.
Flew in from HK, took Bus A43 to Sheung Shui, Took MTR to Lowu, crossed border to Luohu and take the CRH to CP. I arrived in HK airport at 8pm, was at Sheung Shui at around 9.30pm, and took the 10.20 train from Luohu to CP, arriving just before 11.

Total Time spent = 3 hours, Total Amount Spent = around 100 RMB ($21)

Generally, it's faster than the MPV transport nowadays with the queues (at airport and at border), but if you lugging heavy luggage you might just want to consider convenience factor


Just reporting in:

1. Accomodation: Stayed in Capital Club VIP room (298/318 RMB a nite) and HMTL Promo Price Room (338/388 an nite). Both are really good value for money. Of course after CNY, HMTL will go back to HH pricing so it's no longer good value. Problem with Capital Club is still it's availability. Got to book way in advance or else can't get VIP room (and ask for VIP room with window). The small room is cheap but really tiny.

2. PZL is good. Since I was last there in October, it seems to have improved in MM quality. I met this new gal - 98 - been there for 3 months, suddenly is now top 10 (yeah, read that carefully top 10 not top 30). Don't know how she do it. Also 188 seems like going back home. So maybe we will see a new number one.

3. SN was a disappointment. No good picks. CA had good picks - if you are willing to go there. Either get a transport (150 RMB+), or take bus 203 (15 RMB) Went to Pacific SN there.

4. KTV - Yihao is good. I went Yihao 3 times; I would have tried other KTV, but on first night I went it was so good I went again and again. Since now all the other KTVs also increase in price, Yihao is now competitive again. Plenty of 3712 to choose from, and frankly 41015 is still good value. 51220 maybe do ST and let go. 800 to sleep is too much for me.

5. Food - CP food is still ok, I'm getting sick and tired of Shao Kao and Jibao and Ju Du Ji. The western food and japanese food is subquality.

6. Taxi/Transport - Now CP is facing gridlock. Too many cars. The price of taxi is still 15/20RMB around the city central (like from HMTL to Yihao) of course going Swan Lake/Ban Dao maybe 20+? If you are feeling adventurous take a Bicycle Taxi for 10RMB. It's not much savings in price, but god-damn it it's so much faster and less idiotic then getting stuck in traffic.
