Issan is mainly farming and poor but depends on which part of Issan. There are rich Issan families too. My gf (10yrs ago) family is in Issan, almost the whole village work in her family's factory and her house is the only with swimming pool in the village on a 4 rai of land. She married yrs ago and her sin sot alone was 5 mil.
In SGD, it is about 200,000. She married an expat farang.
Go Korat, the main city which I dislike. The street is like BKK... jam jam jam. A lot of foreigners in Korat with their BGF. A lot of cars sponsored by foreigners while driven by ger's family.
BTW, WLs are from all over the country... Most will tell u from Isaan, dun ask me why. Also bear in mind not all darker skin are from Issan and not all fairer skin are from North like Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai. I know of a few fairer skin, they are from Korat. A few darker skin, they are from North.
