Not sure about years ago but from what I see the katoeys in Bangkok, they dun keep quiet or keep their heads down. They are more than eager to engage conversations with guys, grab them smile and speak first with guys. If a "girls" gets too overly interested in going with u along sukhumvit, likely 90% she is a ladyboy.
