I hate to say it but it is gonna happen sooner or later. I do not know about FLs, but for the vast majority of MLs working out of private apartments, Murphy's Law is gonna catch up with them. It can't proliferate forever. Sooner or later, some neighbour will notice different males entering and exiting a particular apartment, and at different times of the day and night. Someone might notice different males speaking Chinese/English at the security gate and saying..."04-05 ah...OK OK, I press bell then you open gate". Others might even notice the more than ordinary number of towels being left out to dry. No matter how hard the ML/FL tries to hide or remain inconspicuous there will always be signs. One only needs to know where to look.
I was speaking to someone who volunteers at some grassroots centre recently and I was told that the authorities know what is going on. It does not require a rocket scientist to find out which ML/FL operates out of which apartment/condo. There are advertisements and there are phone numbers. Basically, if there is no complaint, authorities might close one eye, not that they condone the activity but might just note it down on their records and save it for future/further action. However, if there is any complaint, even the slightest one that suggests some unlawful activity is being carried on, then the authorities have no choice but to act. If the premises are HDB premises, then siao liao....sure Tua Dai Jee.
So, the OKTs/MLs/FLs need to start thinking, if they have not already done so, about an alternative business model. The current one is OK, but will not last.
Also, so hor....want to visit your favourite ML, better do it while you can lor...
