If you going to meet up don't use your main nick just create another account and use that as your forum identity.
For example my main nick is sammyboyfor but when I need to meet someone in real life I'm not going to tell them I'm sammyboyfor. I have another account in this forum and provide that nick instead.
That way I can mingle and socialise in real life without anyone associating the real me with my primary on line moniker.
