Yea,what I learned so far in most Asian 3rd world country is,if the custom immigration wish to penalize anyone with any items,even painkiller like Panadol (painkiller)or perhaps even prescription drugs were prohibited. Hilariously,I remember 30 over years ago when I 1st step foot into Indonesia,Chinese newspaper,cassette music and video tapes were some of those prohibited items.
And in some other parts of Indonesia ,their authorities were still holding those mindset which I mention above. If the immigration custom from any 3rd world Asia country wish to "play" anyone, there isn't really much anyone could do.
Just an example,Tanjong Balai (I read in that thread that some 1st time tourist carrying drugs like Panadol ,condoms and Men's supplement were held up). Batam custom is still considerably quite lenient from my perspective ,well...unless someone actually plan to bring in an entire piece of human-size sex doll thru,hehehe...

I have only tried FL and wechat twice thru out my 3 year plus in Batam,hehehe...the whole trick for me to have a good time in Batam is picking the right girl and over a phone is almost definitely not a good option for myself.

I am one of the guys who shared on the cutting-expectation-by-half (at least by half to be exact) in Batam for 1st time Batam player or newbie/s. But cutting expectation do not equates to cutting the "standard of service" provided by the girls. Once one expect Batam to be like Bangkok or China,then its almost destined that he wont be able to enjoy himself at all. Just like I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself better in Bangkok when I am already so used to Batam. I will have to forget Batam before I can enjoy myself in any part of the world today.

A drinker,a night-life person...do give Jakarta a try. I have a feeling that you might prefer the scene there better if you are into dong guan style. They aren't the same but well...you will know when you get there.
