During lunch on Monday, I left the office super early just to see if I could catch Nick.

Unfortunately, I was sitting there from 11 till almost 1145 but he never showed. I guess he was having a lunchtime quickie with Rebecca.

I did, however, bump into Shirlyn and Jasmine. Thankfully, Mark was nowhere to be seen. It was super odd though, seeing those two together. Rivals for the affections of Mark. Who knew it would become a gossip session?

S: May we join you?

I looked up.

J: Maybe 5 of us should take Mike at the same time. Haha.

J: You, me, Crystal, Rebecca and June.

J: He's coming over now.

J: I just texted him. He's done.

Me: Already?

J: It's only a quickie. He still has to eat lunch right?

Me: Urgh. That means Rebecca is coming over too.

J: Why? What's wrong with that?

Me: She's going to bug me about Mike. Assuming Nick is really interested in me.

J: And?

Me: Never mind.

S: I'm done with lunch.

J: Me too. Enjoy your lunch with them. Hahaha.

They cleared their trays and left me there waiting for Nick and Rebecca.

For some reason my heart was beating really fast. Was it the anticipation? Or was I unwell? I guess I'd find out when they arrived.
