Sorry if things are a bit disjointed, still somewhat hung-over.
So on friday night, was dragged to go to Baryan Tree with gf and her friends again to finish off the bottle I had there. We reached @ about 9.30pm, and the place was jam packed! As usual, loads of chicks around, but unfortunately off-limits for me last night.
Had dinner there, the standard kao-phad faire. I wasn't really into the groove because we were sitting in the section overlooking the rest of the club; I prefer actually being in the midst of the crowd.
Anyways, finished off that bottle there and headed to Renovate! Reached there @ about 11.30pm, and there was no one there. This time chose one of the tables right in the middle. By the time the drinks/mixers arrived, more and more people started coming in, and by 12.30 the place was packed. As usual, by ~2 it was so packed there was nearly no room to dance.
Loads of hot chicks, but was unable to do anything but give subtle looks.
Things started getting really wierd after a bit. I went to the toilet, and on the way back, a cute chick I was looking at grabbed my hand. I smiled and continued back to our table. The next time I went to the toilet, she tried to give me a hug when I came back, but I dodged. Gf was within sight, and I'd be in major trouble if she turned and saw me hugging the chick.
Then... things got really really wierd. This dude at the table next to us, over the next hour, started dancing next to me and doing the 'cheers' thing. He was politely doing that with everyone at my table so at first, nothing was amiss... next he was topping up our drinks with the mixers from his table. We finally finished our bottle, and I was telling everyone to finish their drinks so we could leave... and the dude from the other table started topping up everyone's drinks from his bottle. He said something about hoping we wouldn't mind that he was topping up our drinks with his red, 'cos we were drinking black, then before anyone could do anything started pouring into our glasses.
And so all this time, I'm just thinking that maybe this guy is just being really friendly, until... He turns to me and says something, so I say (as I always do when gf is around), that I don't really speak Thai. He then turns to my gf and starts talking to her. Turns out, he was trying to say that he has a house in another province and would like to invite me there,
At this point I'm giving gf the "wtf? let's get outta here" look, which the dude somehow misinterprets, then proceeds to tell my gf he's really rich, has a gold shop, 10 cars etc, etc, and he think's I'm really cool and would really like me to go with him... One thing interesting though; if the dude were around our age, gf would have no problems exploding and throwing a tantrum at the dude, but because he looked older, maybe late 30s - early 40s, the Thai social behavior kicks in and everyone automatically keeps their cool and put the fake smiles on.
Anyways, long story short, I ta'ed the glass, we packed up and got the hell outta there.
