Once, I waited till 0100 closing time with GRO meet up at another smaller bar 200m down to save on BF (thb1200 was more peng maag those days). But my curi makan was limited as the gals in nearby bars knew each other (gossip2, spies). Soi 33 bars popular with kweilo residents for HH. Also, I sampled nearby jap ktv bars, plenty gals then to choose. Drinks expensive but compensated by lower BFs thb600 then. Once, on a generous mood I took them to Tawandeng with my ex. Only price was btl Chivas.
I learnt of their (double) life, misadventures with farang gigs etc -so true to forums like Stickman Bangkok says. Honestly, nice evening long dresses and ambience is all part of the 'illusion' we customers (want to) believe in. silo no long we have our heads screwed on, it's part of our R&R. My ex got out after few months I met her, as she came from lower middle class family - minus worse or hard luck stories. Longer you stay in bar, harder to get out.
