Take taxi from Petchaburi to Sukhumvit confirm traffic jam and waste a lot of time.
Unless staying very near to Asoke Station you can walk a bit and take MRT or BTS.
If not take a motorcycle taxi to Petchaburi MRT Station.
From there you can transit to BTS line via Sukhumvit MRT Station if necessary.

I think you still have the wrong mentality.
