the statement is only half true. if you read back few pages from this thread, you will know that nowadays the managers and mummies always 霸房 in advance, despite whatever event and being weekday or weekend. worse, nowadays this also apply on dj! in short, there will be no room available by default.
the managers, mummies and dj will not worry about "what if no one odering the room from me?", since nowadays yihao is so hot and so many people going. they will then start release the room to their “good customer” on the nearer days. and the definition of “good customer” is simple, who has spending power.
last saturday was with uncle coolman and 4 of us wanted to go yh, due to last minute planning without advance booking, my regular contact was not able to provide the room but she told me that her friend willing to give us the small room, if the minimum spending is at least rm2500 excluding dj (this should sound familiar to those bros who go yh).
i was then called to my regular agent, was told that mid room cost at least rm3000.
finally we gave up the plan of going yh, as it was simply not value for money and we were not willing to be the carrot cake.
i called back to my regular again, mentioned to her that we want the room on next monday with “no carrot cake” arrangement. lastly, we got mid room with minimun spending of 1088, the bill was ended up with less than rmb2000 including dj.
if you want to go yihao, it is advisable you book in advance and be prepared to spend more especially during weekend; otherwise maybe you will be informed about room cancellation even you have booked in advance.
