Zimroel: I have to agree with Cupmyd... I have been living in Singapore over four years now. I am of a mixed descent, Dutch + Asian.
As with most of the Asian countries that i travel to regularly for work, the key things that i learnt is this:
1) Do my homework - i read through tonnes in this forum, there is a good comadre in this forum with many willing to help BUT we've got to do our homework and not expect to be spoon fed.
2) Learn the language - prior to moving to Singapore to work, i went for night classes to learn some conversational mandarin. When i arrived, my company provided language courses and i chose mandarin and continued learning.
3) Participate Participate in the forum: I contributed, I asked, I advised.
4) Manage expectations: Across the various countries, i manage my expectations, and since i live in Singapore, I walked through the various lanes in Geylang, i didn't throw my weight around (not saying that you do). I had many good experiences and also really bad ones regardless if they were Cat 50, 80, 100 or 150. And like what the other brother said, chemistry will play an important role.

There were girls that i had so-so experiences with, i went back to them in twice, thrice etc ... and services improved by leaps and bounds. Then there were those that were amazing the first time round, went back to them during the second and third visit, i was like on a grease pole to a shit hole.

I must say, the legalized trade and abundance i find here is simply wonderful, its neighbouring countries and of course the amazing land of China. I'm glad i took up mandarin.
