I've found that in China, that being supposedly a "good Client" is NOT what we'd expect to happen in the Western world; time and time again, "Chinese Economics" rears its ugly head and business owners, mommies. managers etc instead thinks "Hey, the guy likes me/my offering/my services so much that he comes back time and time again - he needs me and thus its OK for me to screw him a bit!!"
Yup - they actually start to think that we as a client needs them more than they need us! Strange but true and I've observed this multiple times in the many years I've been doing business in China etc. And this nonsense was all the more acute prior to the Yanda when business was so good that OY/YH KTV rooms was practically being "auctioned off" to the highest bidder some week-ends.

Yes very true even in business.
One effective to counter that is openly let them know we are having alternate sources and make them understand that you will give more of your business to those that comply to your instructions.
Just have to keep these China men "on their toes". Be it business partners, mummies, managers, MMs, drivers etc......Otherwise very soon they will "climb all over" us.
