Hi bro, Hung Hom is a stop on the MTR. Not near the airport coz it's just a stop away from East Tsim Sha Tsui. You can check this link for the timing: http://www.chi$$$$$inguide.com/hongkong-train-travel/dongguan.html. Basically it's the train stop for all journeys between HK and Mainland.
I suppose it's more convenient if you're in Hong Kong already. Though if you actually take 3-4 hours on average by MPV, maybe can consider going to the train station from Airport and thereafter take another train to Dongguan.
