Yes, I do know that 老总 usually refers to somebody quite high up in an organization....but then again.....I have found out from my dealings in China that titles there are quite "fluid!"
I'm just surprised that somebody so stupid/boorish could have made it up to such a high post.

Now think about it, think properly. You probably don't realize it yourself - but isn't such a reply uncalled for/have quite a sting to it/offensive in that you're implying that even after all these years in China I do not have the intellect/ability to discern?
