For someone so so so so immerced in Shanghai.. I am shocked to hear that you regarded a nick like Shanghaitan as a Person, no less "LaoDa" as you have so stated. From what I know (limited knowledge in my opinion), Shanghaitan either refers to a place by the river or the name of a Hong Kong Serial. Supposedly you're referring to the serial, I don't recall a "LaoDa" or even a character in it named Shanghaitan.. hmmm.. I may be wrong since you're the true Shanghai-porean here... Perhaps perhaps perhaps...
By the way, what restrictions are you referring to? Everyone has their own reasons for not doing things... Your so-called "restriction" is a choice you have made. I prefer the company of friends... true friends... Different people value things differently. Different people like people from different places (Bro PTR's Chengdu attraction... you Shanghai attraction... etc etc...)Again.. perhaps you feel that my path is "restricted" because I am not as "wild" as you... but then again, you might be judging based on personal yard sticks which are rather subjective... the judge will also be judged... so when among friends, it is unnecessary to be judgemental.. my opinion is: Can Click... Good... Cannot Click.. So be it.. KTV lovers go out with KTV groups, Pubbers joins other pubbers, HC cheongers organize HC outings, but true like-minded friends will be contented with friends, regardless of activites... But then again.. that's just me.. SUBJECTIVE at best...
