Yes, as long as hotel is situated in BKK. Airport is Suvarnbhumi.
My BKK friend said that SAM's charges are neither costly nor cheap. Juz OK. But at least passenger does not get nasty surprises.
Make a long storey short, I kena once during wee morning hours when taxi on his meter when he reach hotel (5-star Marriot affiliate property); halfway he off meter and told me highway not many cars and ask for money; i asked him to on meter, he said can but he must go back to my hotel and on and restart again....
So I said OK but SMS my Thai friend, he gave me instructions and i followed.......eventually I made report at Tourist Police, my hotel also followed up my case........BUT that driver was using another person's taxi.....so the owner got into deep shit instead. Such is life.
Oh yes, the "bad" driver asked for THB5000
