I truly hope that nobody will mind me JOINING IN on this subject of KTV and KTV girl pricing - for the last time I even hinted on it, I got mass zapped. Sigh...!

I have been coming over to CP for God knows how many years and doing so quite regularly; and I've seen it transform from being:

1. A place where the Hong Kong truck drivers come to spend the night (as the borders closes at night), party on the cheap, keep their equally cheap er-nais and a place where Local Chinese would not even think to go to party at as CP was then too low class for them,

2. To where the Hong Kong/Taiwanese factory owners started to also come for its quantity and quite cheap quality - whilst inviting their Hong Kong/Taiwanese friends to come - and these same guys would also then come over themselves. Please understand that Hong Kong/Taiwanese guys are quite fastidious when it comes to mongering and have always been good at keeping a lid on prices, demanding proper service – AND getting it!

3. To the beginning of the mongers from further afield, learning the ropes from the internet and finding CP great as some of these gals also likes these foreigners; but even then, prices, quality, quantity were still OK, as these mongers do NOT throw money around/no need to do so as quite a few gals willingly go with them for their uniqueness. I'd say that this was the "Golden era" for us, about 6 or 7 or so years ago - when not only prices were great, Quality AND Service were equally great! And also the start of some more Westernized eating places (and where we'd then not need to only chow down on crap), the nicer grocery stores (instead of just the Huaren one), movie houses, bowling alleys, go-kart places, bars/discos etc

4. To the start of the "foreign invasion" with a plethora of tour guides and agents holding the hands and showing all the ropes to their customers, who in turn started learning all about CP themselves.

5. And for them to then start coming over in a big way, bringing their own friends from overseas (who of course in turn also did the same) - and showing off their knowledge AND worse, their Big Swinging Dick ways by throwing money around. Yeah, we had supposed "leaders of the pack wannabe's" practically competing with each other in throwing money at girls, KTV's, PZL gals, etc (AND unfortunately still do) - whilst these people just held out their hands, smiling widely whilst thinking….. "Sucker!"

NO I really can NOT and have no right to comment too much on this as foreigners DO come a long way, spend a lot of money doing so, spend more again staying at these ever more lavish accommodations (Hell, I used to stay at the Miraton for as cheap as 218/night!!) - so who can blame them for partying as hard as they can. What I CAN AND WILL SAY is that this all has resulted in the situation that CP is now.

Sure, prices are much higher still in GZ, SZ SHA, Beiing etc - but you have to understand that "entertainment places" are quite few and far in between there and are in those places certainly as a mere adjunct to the main regular commercial activities of the city; this is NOT the case in CP where "Entertainment Places" ARE the lifeblood of this shit hole! And competitive pressures from all these new places opening up SHOULD HAVE ALREADY put a lid on the price rise/service and quality going down phenomena – but the fact of the matter is that there’s just plain too many ever increasing numbers of mongers coming over, throwing money around!

And all these rumors starting just a couple years or so ago, about all the Singapore Taowkay’s and Malaysian Datuks paying RMB 30K/month to keep some scabby li’l gal in CP; SHIT!!!! This particular rumour has taken a life all of its own and has really played a big part to drive prices up and make service go down to shits. You see, girls now are thinking that they can do better than take crap from customers for the mere few hundreds a night and “acts up” even with their mommies – something that even a few years back most girls would not even dare contemplate doing

Please understand that I am NOT trying to fault anybody; I know things like this just happens - but you all can...and hopefully...should try to your best to at least try to do your part and stop being so “generous” when in CP; trust me – throwing money around is not gonna make your bonk any better! LOL!

My apologies if I offended anybody, but this is a heartfelt plea to ALL of you to please consider doing something - ON YOUR OWN PART! Please do something to stop this crap that’s happening in CP now; CP still remains a semblance of a Man’s paradise – and it’s not YET too late to do all our own part to keep it this way….and hopefully to even reverse the rot.
