Well..... one never knows...especially when its Chinese economics 101.
For example, many businesses in China, when losing clients/faced with falling sales, instead of lowering price to attract customers back (like we with a more Western mind-set would do), would actually raise prices as in their mind, they need to compensate for the lost business.
Or in the case of how they treat good returning customers - we of a more Western Mind set would usually go out of our way to treat such customers better/give them more/give them discounts etc in order to retain them as clients. Well, how many times have you found out that "new customers" get better deals than you the long term patron? Whether its at a KTV where newbies are attracted in by special packages (which they never tell you about ) or place an order at a factory and NOT be privileged with lower prices then available to new orders? The examples of this stupid practice by Chinese businesses goes on and on!
The way they think is that since you come back to them time and time again, they must have priced their goods/services to you TOO cheap! That since you ALWAYS come back to them, that you're not able to find any better deals.
Well, this kind of thinking is especially prevalent amongst CP practitioners - and thus the reason why I many times will avoid using the same KTV mommy or sauna manager too often. These smug bitches and bums!!
And as far reversing the trend, well.... like I said one never knows!! But at least if all of us practices a bit of self-restraint, then HOPEFULLY this trend of ever higher prices accompanied by ever lower standard of service/bad attitude could at least be stopped or delayed. Don't let these dregs from CP cow us into submission!!
I remember clearly 3 or 4 years ago when the Swan Lake BBS mommies tried to maintain their CNY ST prices at 250 (from the old 200), a bunch of us from another board sort of organized ourselves and refused to go along and eventually the price did come back down. Not the case last year and thus nowadays that 250 SWL/Yalan price stuck...even though one can still bargain for a BBS girl for 150 from behind the Lucky or from the Pimp Mommies in front of PZL. Perhaps just too many Big Swinging Dicks nowadays not caring and just wanting to have a blast - for after all, what is an extra 50 to them??!!
The same even when Mayflower first opened up and they tried to raise the 2-5-8 price which has been derigeur for many many years. Most guys at that time refused to take the higher priced girls and thus most of the gals there priced themselves at 2-5-8; and I remember many of the supposed model/higher priced gal would change their tag to indicate the lower 2-5-8 price at 8 pm - as they realize that the only way they could get a sitting for the evening is if they did lower their price.
So please don't short-change our own ability to dictate the terms as patrons - even in CP! Like it or not, without us patrons, all these lavish pleasure places are gonna suck wind! You're doing the spending, you should have the choice.
Just my own POV and heartfelt suggestion.
