perhaps this is becoz of the strict travel restriction rule imposed on the PRC mei meis i.e. they cannot leave town unless they quit GL n in that case cannot return to work in Sin again, think also cannot travel to Sin for a certain period of time as well...compare this to the M'sian WLs' situation where they can leave town every mth n home for them is just across the causeway...probably turns a WL into a cynical defensive creature...
