Should be "I can further ADVISE you....".

"Advice" is a noun.

Re: help needed.. Complicated Divorce case...

for HDB matters
read here.. and here'

under the HDB's prevailing policy for divorce (not due to non-consummation of marriage or annulment or break-up of Fiancé / Fiancée relationship), a divorced party who has the custody of the child (including care and control) is allowed to retain the flat subject to the eligibility conditions.

If the matrimonial flat is bought directly from HDB (including resale flats bought with the CPF Housing Grant for Family), the 5-year minimum occupation period (MOP) must be satisfied before the divorced party is allowed to take over the flat under the SSC Scheme.

if the divorce is not contested, it can be settled in less than a month. as for her PR status, it will depends on the reason why she was given a PR in the first place..

Just some question after divorce can the flat be still under my name? Since i am paying for the installment every month and i dun think she can afford to pay as she is not working...and also we both agreed to divorce peacefully without any contest. How long will it take normally to close the case..and also she is a SPR already.. Will her PR get cancelled if we divorce? Really need some aids from the seniors here.. Thank you... Cheerz...

Re: help needed.. Complicated Divorce case...

It appears that your divorce is amicable. Then not so tough. You can agree to give her the whole flat. She will have to pay for the loans and all that. If out of the goodness of your heart, you can agree to pay her maintenance that matches the loan payments. But remember any maintenance order can be varied on application to court (up or down and by either party). [Those $1 maintenance order for ex-wives are tricky]

As for the children, you can have joint custody. Care and control is trickier, especially when they are so young. The welfare of the children is the paramount interest of the court. This one, they will likely give care and control to the mother, unless you both agree that C&C be given to you.

Her PR should remain with her.

She will have to accept that she will have to work at some point.

A non-contested divorce can still take a while. 4 to 6 months bah.

About her PR status, she should have no problem keeping it. SG gov loves children very much and she is the mother.

When your spouse's Re-Entry Permit (REP) expiry date?

Do you apply your wife SPR under as the spouse of a Singapore Citizen/SPR right?

Just ask her to bring her blue ID and her passport and REP and complete Form 6 and make an e-appointment at ICA before submission of the application.

You can help her apply online thru' your PC if she has a Singpass. The application will be processed within one day if she is in Singapore.

Don't worry lah... Alot of misconception abt REP renewal, and not SPR renewal. Her SPR is based on your merits and the formailities has already been completed and cannot be revoked unless she had committed some serious criminal crimes and is revoked by the SPR approving board.

The purpose of REP is to enable the Permanent Resident to retain his/her SPR status while away from Singapore, and of course to earn 50 bucks for every 5-yearly renewal.

Good luck.
