Re: an entrapment deal
I think according to SG law, even if wife have affair outside, she's still eligible to apply for alimony.

Re: an entrapment deal
If the divorce is caused by 'irretreivable breakdown of marriage' citing adultery as sole reason, and the court ruled so, the man has a high chance of avoiding maintenance to the former wife. While existing properties will most likely be split 50-50, the Women's Charter does make a good room for women to ask for maintenance if she is unable to support herself, or continue to live her past lifestyle without much effect from the broken marriage.
Simple means that if the man is rich and they are used to a good life, the court won't see the divorced woman rot in the sewer just because her man divorce her, even if she had adultery with countless men. Maintenance can be lump sum or by periodic payment as well, all in all, a rich man pay more maintenance than a poor man simply because he is deemed to be able to continue earning his bucks. Problem is, some man do bear the blunt of the divorce because their ex-wives are able to prove that they still need a good life after divorce, the poor rich man must just continue to work for his mistake of marrying her in the first place. sorry to put this whole load up in this thread! |

Re: an entrapment deal
Thanks bro etherc, I am finally out of the 10 pointer band. You started the alimony idea, I was just going with the flow.
Hope I am not taking advantage of someone's plight in this case, specifically in this thread. Law is sometimes subjective to situation and certainly to its use, since in sg we 'just follow law', its never a bad notion to know more. Esp to protect ourselves when we see people taking a dodgy approach as a solution. I dun think SBF is a forum for anybody to further their means. |
