Normally distance like cowboy to nep at residential areas ( not tourist attraction ) would be priced at ard 30-40baht most.

But because of the place where u depart which is a tourist attraction ( foreigners go there and likely u told him "nana plaza" and alighted at NEP ) so it would be a "foreigner/tourist" price. Perhaps u could tell him Sukhumvit Soi 4 and alight at the petrol station nearby. And would probably be slightly cheaper though.

Motorsai for locals is more to avoid traffic jam and small soi. Most locals will take BTS/MRT then take motorsai. Example if u are in MBK and want to go back ratchada, most motorsai will not want to go unless u are willing to pay a "premium price".
