Malaysia : Weapons, handcuffs and cars missing from police – AG’s Report
An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
Weapons, handcuffs and cars missing from police – Malaysia AG’s Report Oct 1: Every year Auditor-General's report has never failed to create excitement through their revelation on how public money was lost in various government departments. In the AG 2012’s report, the agencies that caught media attention are Royal Malaysian Police Force (PDRM) and Royal Customs Department (RCD). A total of 309 assets were found missing from police inventory costing RM1.33 million between 2010 and 2012. Leading the list was handcuffs at 156, weapons at 44 and police vehicles at 29. Other items comprised of 26 walkie-talkies, six cameras, four computers and 22 radios. However, AG stopped short of listing the type of weapons discovered missing. AG also found police’s assets management was unsatisfactory in Bukit Aman federal police headquarters and three state police headquarters as many losses recorded in 2010 and 2011 remained unresolved. The revelation is just too shocking for Malaysian public to stomach. AG had stated the weapons as missing but what if they were not actually missing but they were being sold to the black market? Some member of parliaments should pursue this matter from this angle. Meanwhile, AG also revealed how RM600,000 public fund was wasted by RCD for their 7,659 pairs of shoes that failed to meet specifications. Worst, the shoes were left to rot for three years in storage since 2009. http://en.harakahdaily.net/index.php...gs-report.html Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
